Birth Photographers Focus on Themselves
What do birth photographers think about not being let into the birth space?
For birth photographers, quite frankly, it sucks.
While we all understand and want to protect your families, we miss being there when your little ones come into the world.
Birth photographers love and miss supporting you mommas in small ways and big. There is no one outside of your family that will cheer you on as much as your birth photographer.
A group of us got together and turned the cameras on ourselves. I will be the first to tell you that this was NOT comfortable for me. Like most photographers, I am so much more at ease TAKING the pictures rather than having them taken.
Also, this was the first time that I have ever done a self portrait (EEK) and it felt very vulnerable.
Having two teenagers there anxiously waiting their turn for portraits was probably not helping in the slightest.
My Self- Portraits (EEK)
Hello! My name is Crystal! Please let me shoot your babies so you can hang them on the wall!
I discovered that I like to touch my face a lot. Anyone else have that problem?
Check out all of my friends’ self-portraits!
Thankfully we are starting to shoot again (some of us). I cannot wait to start witnessing your miracles again!
Guess what? I am booking births! Yes I am booking newborns, and taking the necessary precautions. I am ready to be there for you in any way you need me!
