My 2020 IAPBP Image Competition Entries

March 23, 2020

This is an international competition,

birth- mom- holding- newborn- baby- girl and photographers from all over the world enter their favorite birth images into this competition. Some of my favorite birth photographers entered the competition. I am honored to work in a field of so much beauty.

The competition was fierce this year with so many gorgeous images from the likes of Brittany Hogue (who won an award!) and Brooke Flanagan (who I love dearly as a person and a fellow photographer!).

I look up to these ladies (partly because I’m a shortie), but mostly because they inspire me more than they know. These two, especially are always available to answer your questions and to root you on!

The competition images are absolutely breath-taking. (You can see them here) This year was no different in that aspect. Putting yourself out there is not an easy thing to do.

Always pushing myself

As an artist, you never quite feel like your work is up to par. I believe that this is what pushes us to continue educating ourselves and striving to be better and better.

One of my goals for this year is to push myself out of my comfort zone. In order to do that I entered three images. These images spoke to me and will forever be part of my heart.

My absolute favorite image is this one! I love how the midwife and momma are working together to deliver this beautiful baby. It is such a precious moment.
